“Fr. Ebube Muonso Broke My Family’s Generational Bondage” — Fr. Jeremiah Ikezure Shares Emotional Testimony Behind His Ministry

For years, tragedy haunted his family. His mother suffered a stroke and lost her speech for nearly eight years before she died. His father was later struck by the same illness. Then his elder brother also fell sick and passed away.

Today, Fr. Jeremiah Ikezure says those painful experiences became the foundation of a ministry dedicated to family liberation after what he describes as a life-changing encounter with Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Fr. Ebube Muonso).

In a deeply emotional interview, the Catholic priest recounted how years of suffering, relentless prayer, and unwavering faith shaped the Divine Mercy Eucharistic Encounter Ministry, now in its fifth year.

“The ministry started five years ago, not by my power nor by my might, but by the Spirit of God, as written in Zechariah 4:6,” Fr. Jeremiah said.

A Family Under Siege

Fr. Jeremiah revealed that his family’s ordeal stretched over several years, leaving them devastated by illness and repeated tragedy.

According to him, some relatives insisted that an ancestral shrine was responsible for the family’s misfortunes and urged them to seek traditional spiritual remedies.

“My father refused,” he recalled. “He remained steadfast in the Christian faith despite the pressure.”

The Encounter That Changed Everything

The turning point, Fr. Jeremiah said, came during one of Fr. Ebube Muonso’s crusades in Orlu, where his parish priest introduced him to the renowned Catholic preacher.

He recalled the words that transformed his outlook forever.

“My son, don’t worry. Weep no more. My God will fight your battle.”

Filled with renewed faith after the prayers for family liberation, Fr. Jeremiah said he returned home convinced that God had intervened.

He narrated how he later confronted what he believed was a family shrine after discovering preparations for traditional rituals involving his family.

“That marked the beginning of our liberation,” he said.

“God used Rev. Fr. Ebube Muonso to liberate my family through his ministration. The God of Rev. Fr. Ebube Muonso is indeed real.”

Why He Founded His Ministry

According to Fr. Jeremiah, his personal testimony became the driving force behind the establishment of the Divine Mercy Eucharistic Encounter Ministry.

His mission, he explained, is to help families experience healing, deliverance, restoration and a deeper encounter with Christ through the Eucharist and prayer.

“God allowed me to pass through those experiences so I can help others discover His power.”

Why He Finally Embraced Social Media

Although the ministry has existed for several years, Fr. Jeremiah only recently expanded its presence on social media.

He said the decision was not motivated by popularity but by evangelisation.

“I see social media as a platform to spread the Gospel to people across the world.”

Current Assignment

Beyond coordinating the Divine Mercy Eucharistic Encounter Ministry at St. Francis Parish, Abagana, Fr. Jeremiah currently serves as a priest-in-residence and oversees one of the parish’s filling stations as part of his pastoral responsibilities.

‘We’re Following the Spirit of God’

Asked about the future of the ministry, Fr. Jeremiah declined to make ambitious projections, insisting that God alone determines its direction.

“We are following the Spirit of God. This is a season of training. My concern is building myself and helping people know God.”

His Message to Young People

Fr. Jeremiah urged young people struggling with doubt and unbelief to return to God, describing holiness as the pathway to divine intervention.

“Let’s go back to God. Our God is the God of another chance. When you come close to Him, He will come closer to you. Holiness remains the number one key to receiving God’s help.”

From surviving years of family tragedy to answering the call to the priesthood, Fr. Jeremiah Ikezure believes every painful chapter of his life prepared him for a divine assignment.

Today, through the Divine Mercy Eucharistic Encounter Ministry, he says he is committed to leading souls to Christ, strengthening families, and proclaiming the transforming power of faith and the Eucharist.
