Anambra Workers Cry Out over Lack of Toilet Facilities, Power, Water Supply in Fed Secretariat Complex

Association of Heads of Federal Establishments in Anambra State has decried multiple problems facing workers at the Engr. Ebele Ofunneamaka Okeke Federal Secretariat Complex, Awka, Anambra state.

Chairperson of the association, Dr Mrs Blessing Ogbonna stated this while declaring open first meeting of the year held at the Corporate office of the Industrial Trust Fund (ITF) in Awka.

She listed some of the challenges to include lack of functional toilet facilities, total dearth of power supply, water, environmental uncleanliness, among others.

Ogbonna regretted that the myriad of challenges had largely hindered workers’ effective performance, calling for urgent intervention.

Lending his voice, State Controller Federal Ministry of Housing, Chief Sunday Eze identified inadequate power supply to the Federal Secretariat as a source of worry to them.

On her part, Acting Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra State, Bar Ifeoma Chijioke advised Nigerians both at home and in diaspora not to allow their cultural, social and religious differences to rob them of their common destiny.

She underscored the need to embrace principles of National Identity Project and National Values Charter of the Federal Government as some of the measures geared towards building Nigeria as one of the greatest nations in the world.
