Anambra Community Expels Criminals, Mkpụrụmmiri Addicts

The town leadership of Akwaeze community, Aniocha Local Government Area, Anambra State have expelled drug addicts, especially methamphetamine (MpkuruMmiri) consumers/peddlers.

This traditional ruler of the community, HRM, Igwe Christopher Ndubuisi Okpala, who made the disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen in his palace said the measure was geared towards restoration of sanity in the town.

According to the monarch, the town leadership had earlier asked youths who deal in hard drugs, especially methamphetamine and other hard drugs, to refrain from such.

“As I am talking to you now, we have sacked those involved in hard drugs. You can’t see consumers or dealers in methamphetamine, here again.

“I have told the youths earlier, to live meaningful life to avoid spending their lives in jail or die on the process of drug addiction. The worst is that such drug like methamphetamine, causes brain trouble that can useless one for life.

“Now in Akwaeze community, you can’t see any drug addict because if we get one he knows what we will do to him. Some of them after taking it become mad and will behave abnormally”.

On Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, he said that, “He is God-sent to better the welfare of the people in the State. Soludo is coming to rebuild Anambra State.”

He lamented that the meagre allocation from the Federal Government was not enough as it were earlier, to help in building the State and urged the people to support Soludo.

He frowned at those who celebrate newyam festival outside their country home adding that it is an abomination.

“How can one celebrate New yam festival outside his own town? The throne of Igwe is secred and should be accorded all respect due to it. As custodian of tradition, whoever that abuses me will have repercution waiting for him”.
