Anambra Police Launch Massive Bush-Combing Operations Against Criminal Hideouts

The Anambra State Police Command has intensified its security offensive against criminal elements across the state, launching sustained bush-combing and clearance operations in identified flashpoints and suspected criminal hideouts.

The operations, aimed at flushing out criminals and dismantling their operational bases, are being led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo, with the participation of personnel from other security agencies and Aguanachemba operatives.

The coordinated exercise forms part of the Command’s intelligence-driven strategy to deny criminal elements safe havens, disrupt their networks and prevent the activities of kidnappers, armed robbers and other violent criminal groups.

During the operations, security personnel are systematically combing identified forests, bushes and other suspected hideouts in a determined effort to uncover criminal camps, neutralise emerging threats and prevent criminals from regrouping or relocating to other areas.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has reiterated the Command’s determination to sustain the offensive against criminal activities through intelligence-led policing, inter-agency collaboration and continuous security operations.

According to the Command, the ongoing operations are not a one-off exercise but part of a broader security strategy designed to consolidate existing gains, safeguard lives and property, and restore public confidence.

CP Ama stressed that the Command would not relent in its efforts to rid the state of criminal elements, assuring residents that security operatives would maintain the momentum until criminal activities are effectively curtailed.

He also reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring that residents can carry out their lawful activities without fear, intimidation or threats to their safety.

The Police Command has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing credible and timely information that could assist security agencies in identifying criminal elements and preventing security breaches.

The Anambra State Police Command maintains that the sustained joint operations are part of its determination to ensure a safer and more secure environment across the state.
