The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama has introduced awards and commendations to Officers who has done exceptionally well in their various areas of responsibility.

The CP disclosed this during his maiden security meeting with Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and other sectional heads of the Command.

The meeting was part of efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness and enhance public safety across the State and provided an opportunity for the Commissioner to set clear operational expectations for commanders and heads of sections.

CP Nnanna emphasised the need for proactive, intelligence-led, and community-oriented policing, urging all commanders to take full responsibility of security within their respective jurisdictions and to ensure the effective deployment of personnel and resources.

He also stated that performance of strategic officers would be closely assessed, particularly with regard to their effectiveness in managing traffic, maintaining law and order, preventing crime and responding promptly to security challenges within their areas of jurisdiction.

He stressed that commanders must demonstrate leadership, visibility and operational control, noting that the security situation and level of public safety in each area would remain important indicators in assessing their performance.

While warning against unprofessional conduct, extortion, abuse of office and other practices capable of undermining public confidence in the Police, Nnanna reiterated that all personnel must operate within the ambit of the law and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
