Ivite-Anam Unites Behind Three Landmark Road Projects for 2027 Budget

In a strong demonstration of unity and grassroots-driven development, stakeholders of Ivite-Anam Autonomous Community have unanimously agreed on three strategic infrastructure projects to be included in the 2027 budget, setting the stage for improved connectivity and economic growth across the community.

The landmark decision was reached during a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting convened by the President General of Ivite-Anam Autonomous Community, Chief Sir Joe Onuorah Udoba (Ochudo Anam), on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

The gathering brought together traditional leaders, community executives, women leaders, and other key stakeholders, all united by a common goal of identifying the community’s most pressing developmental priorities.

Among those in attendance were the Onowu of Ivite-Anam, Chief Albert Ude Onyekwe (Ugumsinachi); the Onu-Eze of Ivite-Anam, Chief Godwin Onyeaka (Ovuonyedioramma); the President General of Iyiorah, Chief Hyacinth Obugo (Chidozie); the President General of Umundeze, Chief Williams Chibuko (Dibor); the President General of Umuonuora, Chief Mike Ifeatu; the immediate past President General of Ivite-Anam Autonomous Community, Chief Cy Ofodile (Nwachimelueze); the Palace Secretary, Chief Chukwuemeka Augustine Nnachor (Omenkedioramma); the Woman Leader of Ivite-Anam, Mrs. Lovelyn Okoye; Prof. Peter Obi Okonkwo, alongside several other distinguished sons and daughters of the community.

After extensive deliberations and broad consultations, participants unanimously endorsed three critical road infrastructure projects as the community’s priority requests for the 2027 budget:

• Completion and tarring of the Abegbu–Iyiora Road.
• Construction of the Abegbu–Mmiata Link Road.
• Construction of the Ogene Bridge–Umuenwelum Road.

Speaking after the meeting, President General Chief Sir Joe Onuorah Udoba described the outcome as a reflection of the community’s shared vision and determination to pursue sustainable development through unity and dialogue.

“Today’s resolution demonstrates that when our people come together with one purpose, we can clearly define the priorities that will drive meaningful development for Ivite-Anam. These projects represent the collective interest of the entire Autonomous Community.”

Community leaders also hailed the consensus as a significant milestone, expressing optimism that the proposed projects would improve transportation, stimulate economic activities, and enhance the quality of life for residents.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from stakeholders to continue working together in pursuit of equitable development and to advocate for the timely implementation of the identified projects.
