Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Peter Obi has presented a cheque of N10 million to the St. Raphael Hospital, Umueri in Anambra East local government area of Anambra state.

Obi made the donation during a thanksgiving service at the health facility owned by the Anglican Diocese of Niger West to mark his 65th birthday.

The former governor of Anambra state had defied the rain to celebrate humanity through an act of compassion and service.

According to Obi’s Media Aide, Val Obienyem, the ₦10 million donation to the hospital was in support of his healthcare mission and continued service to humanity.

“As he proceeds to Lagos, Prof. Okunna and I will join members of his EXCO at the Thanksgiving Mass at Madonna Catholic Church, Agulu.

“In keeping with the wishes of the celebrant, the EXCO will thereafter visit a sickle cell home to extend love, care, and support to the residents, reaffirming his enduring commitment to the welfare of the vulnerable,” he added.
