‘No Affairs or No Canada’: Woman’s Public Warning to Husband Sparks Social Media Debate

A Nigerian woman based in Canada has stirred widespread reactions online after publicly declaring that her husband must remain faithful to her as a condition for sponsoring his relocation to Canada, claiming the directive was divinely revealed.

In a lengthy social media post addressed to her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, the woman, Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, said she was compelled to make the message public after alleging that her husband had failed to take previous private warnings seriously.

According to her, God instructed her to announce the conditions under which her husband would be allowed to join her in Canada.

“This message has been given to him directly, but he didn’t take it seriously, and God wants me to bring it up here so that people who care for him will let him know the seriousness of this message,” she wrote.

The Canada-based woman warned that her husband must not engage in any sexual relationship with another woman or man apart from her, claiming there would be severe spiritual consequences if he violated the instruction.

She alleged that any act of infidelity would attract divine judgment, making claims that such an outcome would be publicly exposed.

“The condition that God wants to use to bring my husband to Canada is that he will not in any way have anything to do with another woman or man sexually except with his wife.”

Reflecting on their marriage, Maryjane said she had remained faithful throughout their more than 11 years together despite enduring numerous personal challenges.

“Over 11 years now that I got married to my husband, I have never kissed another man, not to talk of defiling my body. I have endured a lot, suffered a lot and sacrificed a lot while praying for this marriage to work.”

She insisted that she would not sacrifice years of hard work and perseverance only for another woman to benefit from her husband’s relocation and financial success abroad.

“I cannot sacrifice my life to bring my husband to Canada for another woman or man to come and enjoy his body or his money.”

The woman also declared that she would not accept divorce or polygamy, maintaining that only death should end their marriage.

Beyond her warnings, she outlined what she described as her expectations from her husband, including love, respect, trust, peace, effective communication, mutual support, protection, appreciation and shared Christian values.

“All I need is love, joy, happiness, respect, peace, appreciation, protection, recognition, good communication, support, trust and for him to accept and love my King Jesus, be a husband to me and a father to our children.”

She concluded her post with prayers, asking God to frustrate anyone she believes seeks to benefit from her suffering and to preserve her marriage.

The emotional post has since gone viral, generating mixed reactions across social media. While some users praised her commitment to preserving her marriage and applauded her emphasis on faithfulness, others questioned the decision to air such deeply personal marital matters in the public space.

Neither her husband nor members of his family had publicly responded to the post as of the time of filing this report.
