VeryDarkMan Demands Arrest of Alleged Accomplices as Fake Ministry Scandal Deepens

Popular social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has entered the growing controversy surrounding the alleged fake Project Fund for Innovation and Promotion Council (PFIPC), insisting that investigators should go beyond the arrested Director-General, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, to uncover and prosecute anyone who may have facilitated the agency’s alleged inclusion in the national budget.

In a strongly-worded statement, VeryDarkMan argued that it would amount to selective justice if Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew were made the sole scapegoat in what he described as a deeply rooted system of corruption.

According to the activist, the embattled PFIPC Director-General had allegedly revealed to him in confidence how the agency found its way into Nigeria’s national budget with the assistance of influential persons occupying strategic government positions.

> “Prince Adeniyi Matthew didn’t act alone. He told me how PFIPC got into the national budget with the help of some people in power,” VeryDarkMan alleged.

He said he decided to make the claims public because, in his view, the investigation appeared to be focusing solely on the arrested DG while ignoring those who may have played more significant roles.

> “It looks like they want him alone to take the fall, and that doesn’t make sense. To me, Prince Adeniyi Matthew is also a victim of a corrupt system that may have been operating for decades,” he claimed.

The social media activist called for an expanded investigation into the alleged scandal, urging law enforcement agencies to probe the Budget Office and other government institutions linked to the budgeting process.

He specifically demanded the arrest and investigation of the Director-General of the Budget Office, alleging that the office should explain how PFIPC allegedly secured a place in the national budget.

> “This matter should not end with Adeniyi Matthew taking the fall alone. The DG of the Budget Office should be investigated, and the entire budgeting office should undergo a thorough probe,” he said.

VeryDarkMan further alleged that if officials within the Budget Office were capable of facilitating PFIPC’s inclusion in the appropriation process, there could be other unknown agencies that had similarly found their way into the federal budget.

He also referenced reports that the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, had filed a ₦15 billion defamation suit against Prince Adeniyi Matthew over allegations linking him to the controversy.

While acknowledging the Chief of Staff’s legal right to seek redress, VeryDarkMan maintained that the investigation should extend to everyone mentioned in the unfolding scandal.

> “If Adeniyi Matthew mentioned the DG of the Budget Office, investigators should verify those claims. Accountability should not be selective. Everyone found culpable should face justice,” he stated.

The activist also called for the resignation and prosecution of any public officials found to have participated in the alleged irregularities, including officials in the Budget Office, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and any other relevant government institutions.

According to him, Nigeria’s anti-corruption fight would only gain public confidence if it targeted all those responsible, irrespective of their positions.

> “If we truly want this country to grow, we must demand real accountability—not politically influenced accountability. Everyone involved should be exposed.”

The allegations come amid ongoing investigations into the activities of the PFIPC and its Director-General. However, the claims made by VeryDarkMan have not been independently verified, and the officials and institutions mentioned have not publicly responded to the latest allegations.

The controversy continues to generate widespread public interest as Nigerians await the outcome of investigations into the alleged fake ministry and its reported inclusion in the national budget.
