Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has disclosed his administration’s readiness to collaborate with the newly established Sunday Nnaemeka Memorial Tech Innovation Foundation in Oroma-Etiti, Anam in Anambra West Local Government Area of the state.
Soludo who described the project as a strategic investment in youth development and technological advancement, stressed that ICT innovation remains central to his government’s development agenda due to its growing global relevance.
In a message delivered through his Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation, Miss Chinwe Okoli, during the commissioning of the foundation on April 25, 2026, the governor stated that “technology is one of the fastest-growing and most viable sectors globally, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that prepare our youths for that future.”
“This foundation offers a unique platform for our young people to acquire practical digital skills. I encourage parents to enroll their children and position them for future success,” he said.
Governor Soludo also commended Sir Nnaemeka for the legacy project, describing him as “a forward-thinking ICT expert whose contribution to youth empowerment is highly commendable.”
In his remarks, the Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Udogalaya Aniekwe, expressed appreciation to the founder.
“I sincerely thank Sir Nnaemeka for creating opportunities that will enable our youths to participate meaningfully in the digital economy,” he said.
While acknowledging infrastructural deficits in the constituency, the Rep Member added, “We are aware of the challenges, particularly in social amenities, but we are making steady efforts to bring about meaningful and lasting development.”
Also speaking, former member of the House of Representatives and ex-Anambra West local government official, Chief (Hon.) Raphael Udenze Okeke, described the initiative as transformative.
“This tech foundation has the capacity to positively change the lives of many young people, but only if they take advantage of it,” he noted.
Nze Akajiugo, as he is fondly called, further advised parents in the area to take a more active role in guiding their children, adding that “the world is rapidly moving from analogue to digital systems, and we must not be left behind.”
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Anambra State, Comrade Mrs. Chika Chukwudozie, praised the founder for honouring his late brother. “This is a worthy way to preserve the legacy of your brother, Sunday Nnaemeka, also known as Sunday Jamaica,” she said, while offering prayers for “God’s continued blessings and protection upon Sir Anthony Nnaemeka.”
Earlier, Sir Anthony Nnaemeka explained the vision behind the project, stating that “this foundation is both a personal tribute to my late brother and a gift to the Anam community.”
He noted that the facility includes a modern ICT centre, Jamaica House, built in honour of his brother, “who played a major role in shaping my life.”
Highlighting its functions, he added, “The centre will serve as a venue for computer-based examinations such as JAMB, WAEC, and NECO. It will also provide ICT training, digital skills, and youth empowerment programmes to help our young people prepare for the future.”
