A total of 1,533 Corps members of the 2024 Batch B Stream 2 were on Thursday bidded farewell by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State after successful completion of their one-year mandatory national service.

According to official records, the batch comprised 663 male and 870 female Corps members. A total of 1,496 Corps members were issued the Certificate of National Service (CNS), the highest symbol of NYSC completion.

However, nine Corps members were placed on disciplinary extension of service due to various infractions committed during the service year.

The passing out ceremony, held in a low-key format across all 21 local government areas of the state, featured the issuance of CNS at designated collection points.

The decentralized approach aimed to ensure efficiency, reduce congestion, and maintain order across the state.

Highlighting excellence among the corps members, the NYSC State Secretariat presented special awards and commendations to a select group of Corps members who distinguished themselves through outstanding performance, dedication, and community impact.

The following were issued Commendation Certificates: Egbeniyi Oluwaferanmi (AN/24B/2813); Omotosho Kayode (AN/24B/2474); Airadion Afehomo (AN/24B/2430) and Ajibola Pelumi (AN/24B/2483); Yakubu Moses (AN/24B/2807) and Ani Chidimma Abigail (AN/24B/2101)

Commendation Letters Were Awarded to Obumneme Precious (AN/24B/3281); Dennis Joy Peace (AN/24B/2641); Ifeoma Philomina (AN/24B/1988); Odubena Elizabeth (AN/25B/2901)

The following received Honours Awards: Yakubu Moses (AN/24B/2807) and Ani Chidimma Abigail (AN/24B/2101)

The State Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua congratulated outgoing Corps members for their discipline, resilience and contributions to community development during their service year.

She encouraged them to remain patriotic ambassadors of the scheme and to apply the skills and values gained during the service as they step into the next chapter of their lives.

“The NYSC remains committed to youth development, national integration, and empowering young Nigerians to become catalysts for positive change across the country,” she added.
