A group, The Igbo Arise for Tinubu/Shettima 2027 has called on well-meaning patriots to support the developmental strides of the current administration under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima.
The convener, Mike Iroakazi who made the call in a statement, described purported adoption of a new vice presidential candidate for Tinubu in 2027 by a group known as the North East Coalition as ploy to cause confusion and undermine ongoing progress of the current administration.
Iroakazi urged Tinubu to call the group to order, insisting that the Tinubu/Shettima joint ticket has been a success story and needed no change.
The statement reads in part, “We strongly believe that their joint ticket has been a success story, and we wish to see their continuation in office come 2027.
“Recently, a group known as the North East Coalition purported to have adopted a new vice presidential candidate for President Tinubu in 2027.
“We see this as a ploy to cause confusion and undermine the progress made so far.
“We therefore call on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to call such detractors to order and ensure that party unity is maintained.
“As the Igbo adage goes, “uzo maa mma, aga ya nga abuo” (meaning, if a path is working, why change it?). We believe that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket has proven to be a good road, and we should not fix what is not broken.
“We urge all Nigerians to join us in supporting this administration and rejecting any attempts to sow discord and confusion.
“Together, we can achieve great things and build a brighter future for our country.”
