Gunmen Storm Imo Police Station, Kill Four Officers, Set Facility Ablaze

Four police officers have been reportedly killed in Imo state by hoodlums in the early hours of Saturday, the state police command have confirmed.

The slain officers were attached to the divisional police headquarters in Agwa community, Oguta local government area.

The Imo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mike Abattam, said the attackers burnt down parts of the police station and killed the four officers on duty.

He further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, had visited the scene to ascertain the severity of the attack and get first-hand information.

He appealed to the people of the area to remain calm and go about their lawful engagements, assuring them that the command is on top of the situation.
