Henry Okoye Wades Into Psquare Feud, Says ‘Jude Is Never a Good Person’

Henry Okoye, the elder brother of music duo Peter and Paul Okoye, popularly known as Psquare, has spoken about the long-running family dispute involving his brothers and their elder sibling, Jude Okoye.

Henry, while recounting the history of Psquare, said he was among those who supported Peter and Paul financially and otherwise when they were starting their music careers.

He said the family has eight children — six boys and two girls — and that he is directly older than Jude, while Peter and Paul are the second-to-last children.

“I’m the direct senior to Jude. Peter and Paul are the second to the last. Everything that’s happening between my brothers, we see just that nobody wants to come out and talk,” he said.

According to Henry, he personally supported Peter and Paul when they were seeking sponsorship at the beginning of their music careers.

“When they started this music, they were looking for sponsors. They didn’t get sponsors. Then I started sponsoring them. Jude was not there.

“Even when they started, they came to Jos, na me carry them go stadium for the performance. After the performance, they took first. When they took first, Jude was not there.”

Henry said the family initially regarded Psquare’s success as a collective family achievement and was not primarily concerned about the financial benefits.

“We just took it as a family thing, but we know it’s Paul and Peter who own it. Jude was not there,” he said.

He explained that Jude later became the group’s manager after the family reportedly agreed to allow him to take on the role, despite opposition from their mother.

“My mom said, you know the kind of person Jude is. They know Jude very well,” Henry recalled.

Henry alleged that tensions within the family began to emerge as Psquare’s career grew, claiming that Peter and Paul gradually became distant from other members of the family.

“Before you know it, they started running away from everybody. Paul and Peter started running away from the family. We never knew that it’s Jude that is causing the problem,” he alleged.

He went on to make a strong allegation against Jude, describing his brother as a bad person despite their family relationship.

“Jude is never a good person. He’s my brother, but he’s very bad. I’m telling you the truth,” Henry said.

Henry also disclosed that he has not spoken to Jude for almost two years. He alleged that Jude did not check on him when he was hospitalised for two months last year.

“For almost two years, I’m not talking to Jude. He doesn’t talk to me. Even when I’m sick in the hospital, last year, I was admitted in the hospital for two months, which Jude knew.

“Peter and Paul used to call me, but Jude never called for once to know how I’m feeling,” he said.

The elder Okoye sibling further alleged that another member of the family is struggling in Lagos without sufficient support from her siblings.

“My sister is suffering in Lagos. The same Lagos where Jude, Peter and Paul are. Our last born is in Lagos. But nobody cares about her. Jude doesn’t care. Peter is trying sha. Peter is trying,” he said.

Speaking about Paul, Henry said he was surprised by what he described as a significant change in the singer’s character.

He also raised the possibility of spiritual influence, although he stressed that he had no evidence to support the suggestion.

“I don’t know if Jude used any juju on Paul. I don’t know. I cannot tell. Because before, if you came to the Okoye family, in our family, Paul was the nicest person. How Paul changed, I’m surprised,” he said.
