Hon. Kenchukwu Mike-Offor has launched an audacious bid for the House of Representatives seat for Anambra East and West Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The son of former Anambra West lawmaker and Minority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, late Hon. Mike Offor, made the declaration while speaking with journalists under the aegis of Omambala Media Practitioners of Anambra State (OMPA) at his country home, Mmiata Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Offor who holds double masters degree in Public Administration; and Peace & Conflict Resolution declared that his candidacy was anchored on a conviction that he possesses the character, competence and credibility as well as youthful zest that other contestants do not possess.

He lamented that the Anambra East and West Federal constituency with predominantly riverine communities have been starved of federal presence, critical infrastructure and policy support required to unlock their economic potential.

Offor described the lack of essential services across many communities in the constituency as alarming, and pledged to pursue vigorous legislative advocacy at the National Assembly to reverse that trend if elected to the National Assembly receive in 2027.

He identified comprehensive infrastructure renewal programme, skills acquisition, job creation and economic inclusion especially for the youth as pillars of his legislative agenda, pledging to champion free education initiatives and grassroots welfare schemes designed to lift living standards across the constituency.

“I believe we are in the era of Youth O’Clock. I don’t feel that being young and inexperienced in the game of politics will count against me, rather it will be in my favour.

“I served my national youth service at the National Assembly and that exposure helped me to understand how this country works. I believe it will help me a lot. I also have masters degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution and second masters degree in Public Administration, which will help me relate with my people and get the legislative business better.

The ADC Rep aspirant further disclosed that transparency and measurable impact — not rhetoric — would define his approach at the federal level, and committed to an open-door policy that would make him accessible to all, regardless of social class or background.

“Once I become elected as a lawmaker, I will make sure there is accessibility to me and to the Federal constituency office because I’m the one representing them. It’s when you are accessible to the people that you will know their problems, not by bringing bags of rice and sharing to your constituents in December.
