Senator Emmanuel Anosike has emerged the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Anambra state.
Anosike replaces Chief Basil Ejidike, while the state organizing secretary, Hon JC Okeke who had interest in the chairmanship position was returned.
Chief Mrs Callista Nwachukwu was retained as the Treasurer, while the former State secretary of the party in the state, Chidi Orji was elevated to the deputy chairman position.
Chairman of the State Congress Committee, Rear Admiral Williams Kayoda (Rtr), announced the consensus result of State Executive Committee members, which was endorsed by delegates through voice affirmation.
He called on new executives members to take the party to the next level.
In his speech, outgoing Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike acknowledged the peaceful conduct of delegates, describing the APC structure in the State as next to none in the federation.
Ejidike commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for keeping the party as one, noting that Anambra APC leaders had demonstrated that the party remained supreme.
He also applauded Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma over his continued support to the party in the State and South East region as a whole, promising full support to the new executives to enable them achieve its future goals.
Senator Uche Ekwunife praised the national officials of the party and the representative of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for conducting peaceful congress, saying that APC would continue to fly higher and higher in Anambra State.
In his acceptance speech, newly elected chairman, Senator Anosike, described his election as a call to serve and to uplift the party, promising to carry members along in the affairs of the party.
He appreciated the state party leaders and supporters for the privilege given to them and others to serve for the next four years.
“We’ll ensure all members are carried along and I wish to guarantee all party faithful that it is a new dawn for the party in the state.
“We as a party promise to deliver His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu come 2027 general elections” he said.
Also present at the congress were Chairman of the United Nigeria Airlines, Prof Obiora Okonkwo, Engr Azuka Okwusa, Dr Iyke Iliobi, among others.
