Director General (DG), Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate, Chief Ibeokonkwo Michael has stressed the need to send Okoli-Egbo Tyndale Oforbuike to the Senate.
Okoli-Egbo Tyndale Oforbuike is the YPP candidate in August 16, Anambra South senatorial bye-election.
The DG in a statement described Oforbuike as best choice for the job.
He said, “Our people are faced with a critical choice, to send to the Senate someone who understands the realities on the ground, or to continue with leaders who treat our problems as talking points rather than urgent battles.
“Our candidate, Okoli-Egbo Tyndale Oforbuike, does not need to be told where the danger zones are โ he has been there, he has listened, and he has committed to action.
“From the forests of Orumba South to the deserted streets of parts of Ihiala, insecurity has crippled livelihoods, displaced families, and robbed communities of peace.
“Orumba South is bleeding from constant abductions in Ihite, Owerre-Ezukala, Ogboji, Ogbunka, and Umunze, where kidnapping syndicates hold sway and villagers live in fear.
“Orumba North is not spared. Ndukwuenu and Okpeze have become known not just for kidnapping incidents but as bases where armed terrorists regroup, threatening both locals and travellers.
“Ihiala LGA has zones that have become ghost lands โ Iseke, Osumoghu, and Lilu โ where the fear of violence has silenced commerce and driven many into exile.”

According to Ibeokonkwo, Oforbuike is committed to leveraging federal legislative influence to secure special operations deployment, improved intelligence coordination, and targeted community-based security interventions.
“He will push for a Senate Security Oversight Committee field hearing in Anambra South within his first 6 months, ensuring that Abuja is not discussing our security from a distance but facing it here, on our soil.
“Beyond insecurity, our land is under siege from natureโs fury, made worse by years of neglect. In Orumba North and South, erosion has swallowed farmland, destroyed homes, and cut off road access.
“Communities like Ndukwuenu and Okpeze face not only human threats but also environmental disasters that isolate them from development.
“The same erosion issues exist at mbize Mkpazi, Akamili Umudim Nnewi, in Nnewi North, Amichi in Nnewi South and same can be said of gulley erosions in all the 7 LGAs of Anambra South.
“Okoli-Egbo Tyndale Oforbuike has pledged to sponsor and fight for a Special Anambra South Ecological Recovery Fund, drawing from the Ecological Fund Office, international climate financing, and private sector partnerships.
He pledged to ensure that erosion control and land reclamation projects are not just approved on paper but executed on the ground.” The Campaign DG for the YPP candidate insisted.
Chief Ibeokonkwo pointed out that the bye-election is not about political slogans, but about survival, safety, and sustainability of Anambra South.
The Campaign DG, boldly stated that Okoli Tyndale Oforbuike is the only candidate who has put forward a concrete, actionable plan for the security of Ndi-Anambra South senatorial zone as well battle ready to tackle ecological disasters in the zone.
“When our people vote, let it be for a Senator who will not hide in Abuja but stand with us in Ihite, walk with us in Lilu, and fight for us in Umunze. That Senator is Okoli Tyndale Oforbuike,” he concluded.
