Residents of the Amalekwune Ameka community in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, currently residing in Anambra State, have appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for appointment of non-indigenes to key positions in his administration.

The Ebonyi natives praised the governor for demonstrating true nationalism by appointing two of their sons Comrade Nweke Nweke as the spokesperson of the state security team, Agunechemba, and High Chief Monday Nwokoye as the head of the Special Anti-Touting Squad (SASA).

According to the community, Soludo has proven his commitment to merit-based governance, prioritizing competence and qualifications over political affiliation or state of origin.

The community, in recognition of this gesture, pledged to mobilize over one million Ebonyi indigenes living in Anambra State to vote for the governor in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

The appointment of Comrade Nweke Nweke was formally acknowledged during the Amalekwune community’s New Yam Festival celebration held at Agulu Town Hall, Fegge, Onitsha, last Sunday.

During the event, they also commended Governor Soludo for entrusting High Chief Monday Nwokoye with the leadership of SASA.

In his address, Comrade Naza Moses, leader of the town union’s Onitsha branch, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Soludo for his inclusive governance and compassionate treatment of Ebonyi residents.

He said that the governor’s actions underscore his benevolence and commitment to fairness, irrespective of state of origin.

Moses assured the gathering that those appointed from Ebonyi State would perform their duties diligently and honorably.

He reiterated the community’s intention to rally massive support for Governor Soludo’s re-election bid, scheduled for November 8.

“Our aim is to deliver approximately one million votes for the governor as a sign of our appreciation for his support to our people and our state,”

“Only God can reward Governor Soludo for recognizing the value of our people. We pledge that our members will remain responsible citizens. Our heartfelt thanks go to His Excellency.” he stated.

Also speaking, town union secretary, Uchenna Egboma, and Chief Bartholomew Oyibe, a prominent community advocate, extended their gratitude to Chief Kenneth Emeakayi, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Homeland Security, and other government officials for their confidence in the people of Ebonyi.

They assured that those appointed would serve with integrity and dedication.

Meanwhile, Comrade Nweke Nweke, a veteran journalist expressed his profound joy at being given the opportunity to serve.

He extended special thanks to Chief Kenneth Emeakayi, whom he described as a mentor and a leader, pledging to carry out his responsibilities with humility, professionalism, and a deep sense of duty to justify the trust placed in him.
