Anambra police arrest 12 kidnappers, 9 armed robbers, 3 insurgents in one month

The Anambra State Police Commissioner, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, had on Monday, while briefing newsmen on his achievements between December 1st to December 31st, 2023, (one month), said that the command arrested 12 kidnap suspects, 9 armed robbers, 3 insurgents, 11 vehicles, 12 fire arms, and 40 arms/ammunition.

According to him, “We intensified security within this Yuletide period and will not relent in making the State a better place to live in. There is peace and tranquility within this new year in the State.

“Presently there is heavy traffic gridlock in some areas within the state as a result of the Yuletide and we have deployed our men to ensure free flow of traffic.

Giving a graphic account of how the command killed three of the hoodlums who reportedly killed two policemen at Uga, Aguata Local Government Area recently, the CP said that the trio were killed in their hideout at Ogboji.

“We stormed the hideout at Ogboji on a tip-off, rescued a 51 year old kidnap suspect and killed three of the kidnappers. We are on the trail of the remaining kidnappers,” he further disclosed.

Recall that the two policemen killed at Uga were escorts to an Enugu based politician who hails from Uga, Aguata Local Government Area.
