NSCDC Partners Nigerian Correctional Service to Beef Up Security in Anambra Prisons

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command on Tuesday said it was prepared to collaborate with the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to beef up security around custodial centres in Anambra state.

State Commandant Mr. Isidore Chikere gave the assurance on Tuesday continued during a visit of  Controller of Corrections, Anambra State Command, Pat Chukwuemeka to his office in Awka in continuation of his familiarizing visit to security agencies in the state.

The Commandant said the visit was to familiarize himself with NCoS and to strengthen the existing working relationship between the two Services in order to improve internal security in the state. 

Appreciating the Controller of Corrections for the warm reception accorded him, Chikere, pledged his unflinching support in intelligence sharing and the provision of operational support.

“My purpose of coming here today is to introduce myself to you and seek for areas we can collaborate towards improving the security of the State. Already we have an existing working relationship but I’m here to solidify and maintain the tempo. 

“Be assured of my continuous intervention and support as much as possible in our efforts aimed at improving security challenges confronting us  in the State ” he said. 

Responding, Controller of Corrections, Mr. Pat. Chukwuemeka thanked the NSCDC state Commandant you can pick for the visit and emphasized the need for the two Services to collaborate more in the smooth operation of an efficient justice system. 

“I have enjoyed a cordial Mr. Pat Chukwuemeka  relationship with NSCDC . We shall do everything possible to support our selves  and collaborate with you in achieving our goal as it concerns beefing up security around custodial centres across the State” he said.
