The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, is receiving growing recognition for her advocacy on public health, women’s empowerment and community development through the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.
Since the launch of the initiative, Soludo has promoted preventive healthcare, healthy nutrition, environmental sanitation, maternal and child welfare, and programmes aimed at improving the well-being of women and vulnerable groups across Anambra State.
Her interventions have also included business support for women, campaigns against harmful traditional practices, and advocacy for healthier lifestyles, with a focus on strengthening family welfare and sustainable community development.
Observers say her approach to public service has been marked by direct engagement with communities, including market women, farmers, schoolchildren and rural residents. Through public awareness campaigns, she has consistently encouraged healthy eating, regular exercise and improved environmental hygiene, often leading by personal example during outreach activities.
A computer scientist and entrepreneur, Soludo has also collaborated with government agencies and development partners to advance social intervention programmes aimed at improving health outcomes and expanding economic opportunities for women.
Commenting on her contributions, public affairs commentator Daniel Ezeigwe described her leadership style as one rooted in humility, accessibility and practical service, saying her initiatives have distinguished her among the spouses of public office holders in Nigeria.
Supporters say her programmes continue to promote healthy living, women’s economic empowerment and community development across Anambra State.
