Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Anambra East Local Government Area, Chief Joseph Eneka Ekwealor has urged Anambra citizens at home and in Diaspora to rally behind the state government led by Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo to take the state to greater heights.

Chief Ekwealor who made the call at his country home, Umuoba Anam, Otuocha said that the Soludo administration needs the support and prayer of well meaning sons and daughters of Anambra for his government to deliver on all his campaign promises.

The Anambra East APGA boss who commended Governor Soludo for his systematic and innovative models of governance called for patience from Ndi Anambra as the government begins to implement its development initiatives. He stressed that it could take some time before the citizens begin to feel the impacts of the Soludo Solutions around the state.
“We know that Soludo is carrying a heavy burden of expectations on his shoulders right now as people expect so much from him. But let us bear in mind that such things as development does not happen overnight or few months. He needs our support, especially those now that he is trying to bring some radical changes in the state”, Onyilingiga Anam as he is fondly called, said.

Speaking on his recent “Award of Excellence for a Distinguished Community Service’ by Rotary Club of Enugu Municipal, Ekwealor said he felt fulfilled that his grassroots development efforts was recognized by such international organization.

“The Rotary award for my community service was very emotional to me because it finally reminded me that the reason i returned from South Africa to champion development at the community level was not a waste of efforts and resources.

“The recognition, has also spurred me to do more, especially now that I am a political leader. It was like adding a new oil to an engine for optimum performance. I look forward to contributing my quota to the development of my constituency, Anambra East LGA and Anambra State in general,” he adds.

According to him, he decided to dedicate the award to his community, Umuoba Anam because of the massive support he had received from his base. “I dedicated the award to the royal cabinet of Umuoba Anam Agu Kingdom, Umuezeanya Village which i am the chairman and my family because of the massive support and faith my people had shown to me since i made the decision to return home. I’m a strong politician today in APGA because of them and the prize was for them”, he explained.

On the lessons people should learn from him, the APGA chieftain said ‘Never Give Up on Your Dreams’.

“When i left home to learn trading as a teenager, i had nothing but hope. In all my struggles as a young boy, i never lost hope or my identity. Even when i finally travelled outside Nigeria, i remained true to myself and my mission. Today, our youths want to do all sorts of things for quick money. But when you don’t give up and remain upright, the reward will come.”, he advised.
