Mr Martins Nwabueze, Civil Rights Activist has said that a government that is described as ‘Elitist’ cannot be in favour of the masses.
Nwabueze, the Founder of Tilova 4 Africa, Charity organisation said this while faulting Soludo who said that the decision to ensure that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a consensus of the elite.
He said describing Tinubu’s administration as Elitist was the worst condemnation it could get and to say that a government was only about one percent of the population in a country of about 250 million people was most uncharitable.

He said what it meant was that only the politicians, governors, senators, the oligarchs, the President and the inner caucus were those who agreed that this government should continue and not the people.
According to him, during the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Committee in Abuja, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo mounted the podium and said that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is elitist.
“He mentioned ‘elitist’ many times during his short remark, it is not a good thing nor complementary to describe a government as elitist, it simply means that the government is far removed from the people.
“I am not sure that Tinubu agrees with Soludo that his government is elitist, so he should disclaim that statement or remove him from the Presidential Campaign Council,” he said.
Nwabueze said democracy was supposed to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people but Soludo is making it look like the game of the elite.
He said vrun It means that the political and economic policies of this government only take money from the poor and put it in the table of the elite.
“Every government wants to be seen as populist that is why during elections politicians do all manner of funny things like frying Akaria, eating with children and roasting corn but Soludo does not care about all that .
“Soludo looks like a man who is out of touch with the people, it is not right to say that a government is elitist because it is the elites that are responsible for our situation in this country.
“Elitists are the people responsible for the inability of people to get quality education and good healthcare, I advise that Soludo should retract that comment or reconsider his position in the Presidential Campaign Council,” he said.
