The Anambra State Police Command is raising the bar on operational preparedness as officers undergo a specialised arms drill aimed at sharpening weapon-handling skills, discipline and rapid response capabilities.

The exercise, held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, was conducted under the supervision of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Miller Gajere Dantawaye, psc, who oversees the Police Supervisory Zone covering Anambra and Enugu States.

The drill brought officers through practical exercises designed to strengthen safe weapon handling, precision, coordination and strict adherence to operational and safety procedures.

The exercise is part of efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to maintain a professionally responsive workforce capable of confronting emerging security challenges while operating within the law.

During the training, participating personnel were subjected to practical drills focused on arms handling, operational discipline, coordinated response and compliance with prescribed Standard Operating Procedures.

Particular emphasis was placed on precision, controlled responses, professional conduct and safety in the deployment and handling of police weapons and equipment.

Speaking on the exercise, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, commended AIG Dantawaye for the initiative.
