🚨 EXPOSED: NSCDC Bust Fake ‘International University’, Rescue 106 Students Over Alleged ₦1.5 Million Admission Scam

In a major crackdown on education fraud, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has rescued 106 students after shutting down a fake university allegedly operating from a three-bedroom apartment in Badagry, Lagos State.

According to authorities, the illegal institution allegedly lured unsuspecting students with promises of admission into a foreign university, convincing many to pay tuition and other fees of up to ₦1.5 million each.

Investigators say the operation was run from a residential apartment disguised as a higher institution, where students reportedly attended lectures while believing they were enrolled in a legitimate international academic programme.

“The suspects allegedly exploited the dreams of young Nigerians seeking quality education and international opportunities,” officials said during the operation.

The NSCDC says investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the alleged scheme, identify those behind the operation, and determine whether additional victims may have been affected.

The development has renewed concerns over the growing number of fake tertiary institutions and fraudulent admission syndicates targeting students and parents across the country. Authorities are urging prospective students to verify the accreditation status of any institution through the appropriate regulatory bodies before making payments or accepting admission offers.

As investigations continue, the rescued students are expected to receive further support while authorities work to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
