FirstPower Electricity Distribution Limited (FPEDL), the newly licensed electricity distribution company in Anambra State has announced planned power outage in certain areas of the state on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
The electricity outage, according to a statement issued by the firm through its Corporate Communications Head, Emeka Ezeh, is scheduled to take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
“This temporary blackout is necessary to facilitate crucial work by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) crew, who will be installing a new TR13 60MVA transformer and reconfiguring the outgoing feeders at the Onitsha Transmission Station.
“In order to ensure a safe working environment for the team, the existing MOBITRA 40MVA and 45MVA transformers, in addition to the 1T1 100MVA 132/33KV transformer, will be deactivated during this period”.
According the company, the outage will affect several 33KV feeders, including Army Barracks, Awada, Obosi, Umunya, Juddy Bolema, Nnewi Oba, Nnewi Industrial, Ossomala, as well as the Niccus and Ogidi feeders. Also to be affected are the Nwaziki 11KV and Woliwo 11KV feeders will also experience interruptions.
“As a result, all customers served by the affected feeders will be without electricity supply during the planned outage. FPEDL appreciates the understanding and cooperation of its customers as necessary upgrades are made to improve service reliability in the future”, the statement read.
