Soludo Splashes Award-winning ANAMBRA Teachers with Cash Gifts, Others

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has fulfilled his promise to the Award Winning Teachers of Anambra State in the President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Award.

The governor gave N10 million cheques each to teachers who won vehicles, and N5 million cheques each to the teachers who were first runner ups, in addition to laptops computers given to them by the federal government.

Speaking during the presentation of the cheques and laptops to the teachers in Awka, Soludo, represented by Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh said teachers in the state have been working very hard and bringing home laurels and trophies hence the decision to reward them for their efforts.

“At this year’s Presidential Teachers Award , Anambra teachers did exceptionally well as they brought home nine awards including a brand new sixteen -sitter bus, eight laptops.

“From now on, any teacher or school that wins such award will receive N10 million for first position and N5 million for first runner up,” he added.

Recall that at the 2025 Teacher’s Day celebrated last month, Soludo while celebrating with the teachers, also promised to reward the awardees as well as give each of the teachers who came to the event N20,000 as transport fare which he has fulfilled.

Some of the awardees, expressed appreciation to the governor for the cash awards given to them, describing him as a Governor with a difference.

They pledged to put in more effort to sustain the numerous laurels coming into the State education sector.

Among the beneficiaries were Mrs Royaline Ikebuaso and Mrs Nkechi Ikedi of Pinkberry International School Odume Obosi, Mrs Amaka Anaekwe of Capital City Secondary School, Awka and Mr Cosmas Nwattah of Igbariam.

Among dignitaries at the occasion were Chairmen, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, Prof Nkechi Ikediugwu and Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr.Vera Nwadinobi, Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mrs. Ifeoma Agbaizu and other education officials.
