Anambra Guber Poll: AA candidate, Nweke Hails Voter Turnout, Express Confidence on INEC ‎

Candidate of Action Alliance, AA, Ozo Jeff Nweke has commended the conduct of voters as well as unexpected large turnout during Saturday’s election.

‎Addressing newsmen shortly after casting his vote at Ogbugbankwa polling unit, Awka, Nweke said voter apathy was not witnessed in the exercise.

“There is no voter apathy as we haven’t witnessed it. Much as it were last time, people have turnout en masse to exercise their franchise.

‎” People have really impressed me so much for knowing the need of good governance in our dynamic system. That is why they are so excited and enthusiastic in coming out today to make statement.

“No other better way to say the turnout is very encouraging. Indeed, our democracy in Nigeria has come of age where one can say we have a democracy.

‎”People are still casting their votes without any form of harassment or intimidation. I hope the peaceful nature of the election will continue till the day goes to sleep.”

The AA flagbearer also appreciated the technical functions of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, stating that the Commission really wanted to prove a point different from the previous experiences.

‎” I am personally happy with INEC together with the manner the election is going on at this polling units in Ogbugbankwa, Awka.

“Though, we are observing some skirmishes but still, so far is commendable,” he noted.
