Onitsha Police Area Commander, Anambra State, Chidi Nzota has been conferred with “Advocate of Justice”, award by the Trinitas School of Evangelization, Onitsha Catholic Diocese.
Bestowing the award on the Police Chief, Coordinator/Director of the school, Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Igweagu, urged him to maintain the tempo of his service to God and mankind.
He said the church has seen and heard of his positive impact on the residents of Onitsha and its environs which earned him the award, urging him not to relent.
“God picked you to restore the lost glory of Onitsha which you have done as residents now sleep with their two eyes closed,” he added.
A chieftain of the school and state chairman, Civil Liberties Organization and Social Crusader, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme described the Area Commander as a man of integrity and impeccable character
He said the Catholic Church, being a moral compass bestowed the honor on Nzota based on his stand for justice, uprightness, selflessness, love for God and humanity.
“The award will serve as inspiration and hope to other officers and men of the Command to emulate Nzota’s truthfulness, selflessness, contemptible nature as well as the love for God and humanity,” he said.
Responding, Nzota commended the Catholic Church for finding him worthy to be so honoured, saying it would spur him to do more.
“I enjoy the award more than others I have received. For one to be honoured by the Catholic church is a morale booster.
“Whatever made you to identify me as one of the recipients of the award, it will spur me to do more.
“I dedicate this award to God, my dear wife, children and entire family. I will keep it so special, I am so glad,” Nzota said.
Present at the event included, his 2ic, Ogoma Chime, (CSP), Administration officer, Chioma Best Ubani, (CSP) and the Onitsha Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), ACC Godwin Odo.
