Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the November 8 election in Anambra State, Jeff Nweke has vowed to prioritize security if elected governor of the state.

He said kidnapping, ritual killings, armed robbery and other forms of criminality would be eradicated within four months of assuming office.

Nweke who gave the assurance at the Ekwodiaku Primary School Field, Awka, during a campaign rally said his decision to contest was informed by desire to rewrite the long-standing negative narrative about Awka and to uplift the entire Anambra populace.

According to him, no amount of money, not even $300 billion, would make him abandon his ambition to govern the state.

Describing himself as “not a career politician,” the AA flagbearer vowed to transform Awka into a major technology and investment hub if elected.

“There is a reason why Jeff Nweke should be elected, especially by Awka indigenes.

“I have entered this race with clear intent, and no amount — even if I were offered $300 billion — would make me step down. I am committed to seeing this through to the very end.

“This is not about Jeff Nweke alone. It is about all of us who have good intentions for Anambra State. Awka and its people have been neglected for too long.

“The only way to correct this historical oversight is to vote for the Action Alliance in the November 8 election.

“Mark my words: within two years, Awka will become a replica of Silicon Valley — so economically and technologically advanced that one might even need a visa to enter it for socio-economic activities,.

“If given the mandate, issues like kidnapping, ritual killings, and armed robbery will be eradicated within four months of assuming office.”

While commending Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his developmental efforts, Nweke urged him to pay closer attention to persistent poverty among Awka indigenes despite the town’s privileged status as the state capital.

He urged Anambra voters to embrace what he described as a “radical transformation agenda” by voting for him and the Action Alliance in the forthcoming governorship election.

Earlier, Convener of Otolo N’eche Obodo Awka, Chief Ikechukwu Ofomata, expressed confidence in Nweke’s capacity to deliver, describing his emergence as historic.

“For the first time, an Awka indigene is contesting the governorship of Anambra State with unmatched financial and physical commitment.

“He has the capacity to eradicate criminality and drive meaningful change that will elevate the state to new heights,” he added.
