Tansian University now runs Post -graduate courses as 2,425 Convocates Says VC

The Vice-Chancellor of Tansian University , Umunya ,Prof. Eugene Nwadialor has said that Tansian University now runs Post – Graduate courses , which are duly approved in the faculty of Management and social sciences as well as Natural and applied Sciences .

Professor Nwadialor made this known during the 7th – 12th Convocation press briefing in the Schools Auditorium on Tuesday.

He further stated that Two Thousand Four Hundred and Twenty-Five (2,425) students will be awarded degrees in different field of studies ,having met the requirements in both character and learning .Out of this number ,27 are in first class honours ,944 are in second class upper division.

His words” These graduates are well equipped in quality education, received morals and patriotism needed to serve the nation in different areas of social , economic and cultural development of Nigerian and humanity at large .

” In Tansian University ,we take our students as our children,whose welfare / nurturing is continued from their various homes and families .The parents forum allows for cross – fertilization of ideas on how best to cater for the needs and interest of the students .As the saying goes, no one has the monopoly of ideas /knowledge .

” All the programmes / courses offered by the university enjoy full accreditation from the National Universities commission (NUC).We are currently awaiting the result of the Nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria ,who came recently to access our teaching and facility in our school of Nursing . Judging from the report of the visiting panel ,we are optimistic that the result will be positive.

” We are living no stone unturned to our preparation and the readiness to welcome the team from the Council on Legal Education ,for a final assessment of our law faculty. However , our first set of law students will soon be proceeding to the law school.

“” We have comprehensive telephone numbers of the parents / guardians and benefactor of our students , In dress code , Students are easily identified by their faculty and departmental dresses.

” In Tansian University , there is zero tolerance for cultism and and belonging to any such nefarious group, once it is discovered that student harbours and belongs to such group ,that will amount to instant expulsion from the school.

” Our University made it mandatory for students to attain seventy five percent attendance to their lectures as necessary condition to be allowed to sit for examination.

” There are many challengea confronting Tansian University as a private tertiary institution ,funding is foremost as there is no government subvention nor are private universities beneficiaries to TETfund for universities.,we have issue of vehicles for transport and we are asking for help .

” Meanwhile, we thank Sir Emeka Offor Foundation for donating 27 volumes of books to Tansian University , Dr Mrs Esther Nkeke Iwotor, who donated 1000 textbooks for our Nursing department , Emmanuel Bishop Okonkwo among others.

Prof Nwadialor who was a former Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State was flanked left by members of Governing Council of the university including the Chairman Board of Trustees , Hon Theresa Nkechi Obiekezie and Prof Chinyere Stella Okunna and right by the university management.
