Shanahan University Will Partner With Oxford, Harvard Universities … Archbishop Okeke

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, His Grace, Most Rev.Dr Valerian Okeke has assured that Shanahan University will partner with the best universities such as Oxford and Harvard for provision of quality education.
He said that private universities of this time are so expensive, that Shanahan University after completion will be the best in the world and more affordable.
Okeke who said this after the christmas mass with the inmates at St Maximilian Kolbe Chaplaincy, Onitsha Correctional Center also stressed that it will be one of the glories of Onitsha, so that Onitsha cannot be only known of a city of buying and selling.
Responding to the appeal of the State Comptroller of correctional Centers, Joseph Usifo, on partnering with the Shanahan university on giving the inmates the opportunity to benefit more in the university, the Archbishop assured him that his request is possible.
“We can even give scholarships to those who graduated from the correctional center, it would be easier for them to further their education.
The Archbishop earlier in his homily said that christmas is a reminder to the people of God, on how God planned to save mankind through Jesus Christ.
” King Herod killed all male children in an attempt to kill Jesus Christ, nobody can frustrate God’s plan, if you are doing God’s will and seeking his face, no power can frustrate God’s plan in your life.
“When you do God’s will, nobody can frustrate you, we will survive from the winter and obstacles of this life, but we have to do God’s will.
The State Comptroller of Correctional centers Mr Joseph Usifo commended the Archbishop for his commitments to the inmates of Onitsha correctional center which earned him the Grand Patron of the Correctional centers in Nigeria.
The House Member representing Onitsha South 1 in the State House of Assembly Hon.Fred Ezenwa in an interview expressed his joy and satisfaction towards the Archbishop’s fatherly love especially to the inmates.
He also commended Governor Charles Soludo for his good works especially the infrastructural developments across the state, ” He is doing very well”, he said
Ezenwa also expressed his satisfaction on the cordial relationship between the Executives and the House members.
Archbishop donated some items to the inmates which includes coolers of cooked rice with one slaughtered cow, cartons of drinks, cartons laundry soap, bathing soap, cartons of biscuit, detergents, one life cow which he promised to provide the next day among other items.
