NOA Anambra Boss Hails Soludo’s Environmental Development Policy

The State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra State Directorate, Awka, Barrister Charles Nwoji, has described the environmental campaign cum policy of the Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo led government in the State as very commendable.


The NOA State Director, Barrister Nwoji, who was speaking when he led some management officers of the Agency on advocacy visit to the Commissioner of Environment, Chief Felix Odimegwu in his office at Chief Jerome Udoji Secretariat Awka,also commended the Ministry of Environment for the good job they were doing in Anambra State on waste management, describing it as very impressive.
According to a press statement by the agency’s Press Relations Officer, Mr Obiorah Anthony, Nwoji, disclosed that he considered the activities of the ministry very critical in the State, stressing that environmental issues play a very crucial role in the activities of the agency in the society.


He pleaded with the commissioner to consider the services of the officers of the WAI Brigade in the state as very critical tools in waste management in the State, especially during the monthly environmental exercise.
While assuring the Commissioner that the WAI Brigade officials under the agency were ready to promote what the Ministry of Environment is doing in the State, the NOA boss lauded the environmental policy of the Soludo administration, describing it as quite commendable.


In his welcome remark, the commissioner expressed the readiness of the ministry to create a synergy with NOA in the state, especially on its orientation programs, adding that the ministry has a lot of platforms to work with NOA in the State.
He stated that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has developed a favourable policy to make the state liveable, pointing out that sensitization of the people was a key in achieving the great feat in the State.
Odimegwu, lamented the habit of dumping refuse inside gutters and open places, stressing that the Soludo-led government was committed to enforce an attitudinal change, especially on wastes management through effective use of the services of Officials of the WAI Brigade in enforcing their Environmental policies in the State.


He added that the State government has perfected its plans towards desilting the New Market Road in Onitsha which he said was recently submerged by flash flood and condemned in a very strong term the unholy attitudes of the people who build their houses on top of water channels thereby hindering the free flow of the flood water.
