The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has conferred an Honorary Fellowship on the Chairman of Keystone Bank Limited, Lady (Dr.) Adaora Ogochukwu Chukwudozie, in recognition of her contributions to leadership, enterprise development and the banking industry.

The prestigious recognition was bestowed on Chukwudozie at the Institute’s 2026 Fellowship Investiture held at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The ceremony, themed “Bank Recapitalisation: Leveraging New Bank Capital for Nigeria’s Industrial Transformation,” brought together prominent figures from the banking industry, business community and government to discuss the role of a stronger financial system in driving industrialisation, productive investment and sustainable economic growth.

Speaking with journalists after receiving the honour, Chukwudozie expressed appreciation to the Institute, describing the recognition as an encouragement to deepen her commitment to service and institutional development.

She pledged to sustain her contributions to national development through her leadership responsibilities in banking, manufacturing and enterprise management.

The recognition comes as Keystone Bank continues its institutional transformation, with the Bank recording improvements in its liquidity position, deposit mobilisation and customer franchise under the oversight of its Board and the leadership of Management.

The financial institution has also continued to strengthen its corporate governance framework, internal controls, risk management structures and accountability mechanisms to enhance operational efficiency and institutional stability.

In addition, Keystone Bank has sustained investments in technology and digital banking channels to improve customer experience, expand access to financial services and strengthen service delivery.

These initiatives form part of the Bank’s broader strategy to enhance operational resilience, deepen customer confidence and consolidate its institutional transformation.

Addressing participants at the investiture, CIBN President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Dele Alabi, called on banks to deploy their strengthened capital bases towards financing productive sectors of the economy, particularly micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Similarly, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stressed the importance of affordable and long-term financing in supporting industrial expansion, enterprise development and economic growth.

He also underscored the need for sound corporate governance and responsible lending practices in ensuring that increased banking capital translates into tangible economic benefits.

Delivering the keynote address, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Dr. Tayo Aduloju, advocated increased financing for manufacturing and other productive sectors.

He emphasised the importance of stronger collaboration among financial institutions, government and regulatory agencies to address structural challenges limiting industrial investment and economic expansion.

Other prominent personalities honoured at the ceremony included Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, Chairman of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority; Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria; and Chief Folorunsho Alakija, Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited.

Others were Dr. Ibrahim Stevens, Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone; Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, Secretary to the Ogun State Government; and Mr. Samuel Egube, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor.

Beyond her position at Keystone Bank, Chukwudozie is the Group Managing Director of Dozzy Group and Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), South-East Branch.

Her involvement across banking and manufacturing gives her a strategic perspective on the relationship between financial services, industrial development and enterprise growth.

Her recognition by CIBN further highlights the importance of visionary leadership, strong institutions and cross-sector collaboration in advancing Nigeria’s economic transformation.

The central message of the 2026 investiture was clear: stronger financial institutions must translate increased capital into productive investments, sustainable businesses, industrial expansion and broader economic opportunities for Nigerians.
