One-Year Anniversary: Udala Radio Visits Onitsha Hospitals, Supports Patients

Udala Radio 104.7FM Onitsha, Anambra state has commenced its week-long celebration with a community outreach to two major health institutions in the commercial city, namely Holy Rosary Hospital Waterside and Federal Medical Centre Onitsha.

The Udala Radio delegation was led by the Director, Barrister Lizzy Anyaonu and the General Manager, Akorede Brown, alongside members of the station’s marketing and presenters departments.

According to Anyaonu, the visit formed part of the station’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at supporting patients who are facing financial difficulties in settling their hospital bills.

She said the visit which is part of activities marking the station’s One-Year Anniversary Celebration was also to reinforce the station’s commitment to community service and social impact.

“The outreach reflects Udala Radio’s mission of being more than just a broadcasting platform, but a voice and partner for the community,” she added.

Speaking during the visit, the management emphasized that the initiative aligns with the station’s philosophy of community broadcasting—a model that prioritizes engagement, empathy, and practical contributions to societal well-being.

The hospital outreach featured interaction with hospital management and patients, offering support and encouragement to individuals undergoing treatment.

The outreach marks the beginning of several activities lined up to commemorate the station’s first anniversary, themed, “One Year of Community Broadcasting.”

Other activities scheduled during the celebration week include a traffic and road safety awareness campaign in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA).

It also included community engagement programs and special broadcasts designed to celebrate the station’s impact over the past year.

Udala Radio noted that the anniversary celebration is not only a moment to reflect on its journey so far but also an opportunity to deepen its connection with the people of Onitsha and the wider South East region.

Since its launch, Udala Radio 104.7FM has positioned itself as a platform committed to authentic storytelling, community engagement, and impactful broadcasting.
