‎A group under the auspices of Anambra Patriots for Soludo has on March 7, 2026 launched its new secretariat at Awka Trade Centre in Awka, Anambra State.

‎Speaking during the event, the National Convener, Arc. Okey Ezeobi said the gathering brought together 326 Wards and 21 Local Government Coordinators to formally open the secretariat and discuss strategies for political participation, governance and inclusiveness for the South East geopolitical zone.

‎Ezeobi while calling on members and supporters to actively participate in promoting good governance, transparency and accountability across the state, congratulated members for their efforts during the re-election of Governor Charles Soludo, noting that the Patriots had mobilised support at the grassroots level, ensuring citizens across all wards actively participated in the election.

‎Praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for projects that benefit the South East, particularly in infrastructure development, Ezeobi further stressed the need for greater political inclusion of Ndi Igbo in national governance.

‎According to him, “While the region has strong commercial influence, he said, it must strengthen political alliances to secure meaningful representation in federal leadership”.

‎The National Convener disclosed that the secretariat will serve as a centre for the ongoing APGA membership registration, helping to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and encourage active participation among members.

‎Also speaking, the National Chairman of Anambra Patriots, Ozo Ejiamatu Damian Enekwenchi, described the secretariat launch as a major milestone. He emphasised that the group will continue to support leaders of integrity and proven performance.

‎Enekwenchi noted that although several support groups emerged during the last governorship election, many had since become inactive, while the Patriots continued to grow stronger. He commended the ward and local government coordinators for their dedication to grassroots mobilisation and urged them to remain committed to promoting good governance.

‎In his remarks, the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu applauded the group for its organisational strength and consistency, noting that the activities of support groups help deepen political participation and strengthen grassroots mobilisation.

‎He described the Patriots as one of the most active support groups in the state and encouraged members to sustain their support for the administration.

‎Delivering his goodwill message, the traditional ruler of Umueri, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Ben Emeka, commended members for remaining steadfast even after elections and urged coordinators to continue promoting unity, development and good governance in their communities.
