Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Barr. Vincent Ifeanyi Ezeaka has directed Dunukofia Council workers who were absent from work on Tuesday, 11th February 2026, to be reporting for duty in his office in Awka till further notice.
In a release signed by the LGSC Boss and made available to newsmen in Awka, Ezeaka explained that the directive issued through the Mayor of the local government Council, Hon. Chijioke Ozumba, was the fallout of his routine supervison to the council.

‘I did a spot check/ supervision of your Dunukofia Local Government Area on Tuesday, 11th February, 2026 and met only 25 workers present and two HoDs present as at 11:00 am. This is out of 208 workers posted to your council.
‘My contact with the Mayor of the Local Government revealed revealed that he was at the state House of Assembly with the HLGA, Treasurer, Internal Auditor, and HoD works.
‘You are directed to inform all the workers who were absent from duty on the 11th of February, 2026, to be reporting for duty in my office till further notice. This is with effect from Monday 16th February, 2026. Please be well guided, Barrister Ezeaka warned.
