Anambra Club Owners Set 4 man Constitution Review Committee

Anambra State Chapter of Club Owners Association has constituted a Four (4) man constitution review committee to review the association’s constitution.

The Association in their meeting held in Awka, stated that the review became necessary in moving the association forward.

The committee members include
Mr Christian Ofili, Nwike Kenneth, Jason Joe and Augustine Amakom.

The committee was urged to do a good job, reflecting part of the input of members observations.

The Association thanked Bar. Francis Ekwemezie for his advise to the association on the legal implications of owning and managing football clubs in Nigeria.

Ekwemezie in one his response to a question bothering on wether a regulatory body can dissolve an association like theirs, maintained that unless the association goes contrary to the provission of the football status or regulations, nobody has the right to do so.

He also encouraged them to continue what they are doing since they are registered under Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) irrespective of any parrarel body or association as the Nigeria constitution provides for freedom of association.

In his remark, the Secretary of Board of Trustees of the Association and the convener of the meeting, Comrade Ralph Okafor pointed that football is a serious and big business, therefore should be taken that way. He was of the view that among other things, players security, members welfare, health insurance scheme, etc should be accorded priority.

Also contributing, Hon. Christian Ofili noted that the Association in her activities is not fighting anybody or authority, rather they are focusing thier interest on what will propel proper football development in Anambra State.

Other speakers including Kenneth Nwike (Secretary) Augustine Amakom (Solution FC TM) also expressed similar view with Hon. Ofili.

The meeting had in attendance many members including Nigeria’s ex-international, Maureen Madu, properitor of Maureen Madu Academy.
