Soludo Writes to Anambra Assembly, Requests for 2025 Budget Virement

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has written a letter to the state House of Assembly requesting for virment of the 2025 budget.

The letter which was read by the Speaker of the House , Mr Somtochukwu Udeze, urged the assembly to a draft copy of the schedule to authorize virement of expenditures, capital and recurrent expenditure and capital receipt in the approved 2025 budget.

According to the letter by the Governor, the virement has become necessary as new priorities emerge amidst the limited resources and unfavourable current economic realities.

The letter noted that in response, the State is taking some decisive actions to address apparent needs of the residents of Anambra state in order to give value and make the most impact.

The Governor noted that in the light of the foregoing, it would be greatly appreciated if the draft virement for 2025 appropriation bill is placed before the House at the earliest time for consideration and passage into Law.

The Speaker who presided over the plenary afterwards referred the letter to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to report back to the House by next week.
