Anambra state Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Umeh on Wednesday celebrated winners of Ngozi Chuma-Umeh foundation Spelling Bee competition.
The first position of the competition smiled home with N200,000, while the second and third positions received N100,000 and N50,000 respectively.
The same prizes were given to winners of the debate competition.
Receiving the winners in her office, the commissioner congratulated them on the feat, urging them to continue to aspire for the best.
According to her, Ngozi Chuma-Umeh foundation was registered six years ago by the children desirous of sustaining the legacies of their academic mother.
“The 6th year edition Spelling Bee competition for primary schools also featured debate for secondary schools.
“The competition showcases smart and intelligent students because the best always emerge from the competition.
“From the local government, the best are selected to participate at the zonal level before the state level which is the final stage.
“The students keep displaying the special trainings they get from the competition through their outstanding performances in their various schools,” she added.
