African Action Congress (AAC) has expressed dissatisfaction over conduct and outcome of the last Saturday’s Anambra State governorship election.
The party in a statement signed by the Campaign Publicity Secretary, Chimezie Nwokeanochie said the process was marred by widespread irregularities and violations of established electoral procedures.
It highlighted the irregularities to include breaches that compromise secrecy of the ballot and undermine integrity of the vote.
While rejecting the results of the election, the party called for comprehensive, transparent investigation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant authorities to address the concerns and uphold sanctity of the electoral process.
The statement reads, “The African Action Congress (AAC) wishes to express its profound dissatisfaction with the conduct and outcome of the Anambra State governorship election held on November 8th, 2025.
“Our observations, as well as credible reports received from party agents and independent monitors across the state, indicate that the process was marred by widespread irregularities and violations of established electoral procedures.
“These include breaches that compromise the secrecy of the ballot and undermine the integrity of the vote.
“The AAC firmly maintains that elections must be transparent, credible, and reflective of the genuine will of the people.
“The anomalies witnessed during this exercise fall short of these democratic standards and have, regrettably, eroded public confidence in the process.
“Accordingly, the African Action Congress rejects the declared results of the November 8th governorship election in Anambra State.
“We call for a comprehensive, transparent investigation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant authorities to address these serious concerns and uphold the sanctity of the electoral process.
“The AAC remains committed to the advancement of democracy, justice, and good governance in Nigeria.
“We will continue to pursue all lawful and democratic means to ensure that the voice of the people of Anambra State is heard and respected.”
