Katsina FC Refutes Misleading Report on Alleged Fans Attack on FC Barau Players

The management of Katsina United Football club has reacted to the news making round in social media that a player of Barau FC had his throat slit by their supporters during the its Week 12 Match.

In a statement by the club Media directorate stated that nothing like that happened.

“The publication in question made several false claims, suggesting that supporters invaded the pitch, that the situation at the stadium was chaotic and that a player had been sluaghtared.

“These assercions are entirely false and do not reflect what truelly transpired. At no point during the duration of the match did any supporter gain access to the main pitch. The game, although tense due contentious officiating decisions that understandably frustrated supporters, was managed within the confines of order and security”.

The club maintained that the report in circulation was misleading and
baseless.

Recall that picture of a Barau FC player lying down on the picth went viral on Saturday with a caption that he was slaughtered during the violence that ensued after the match.

But in the video clip obtained by our reporter the player identified as Nana was very much alive.
The week 12 league encounter ended 1-1.
