Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has eulogized the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke, for complementing his programs geared towards ensuring that education gets to the door step of everything individual in the State.
Soludo spoke at the 72nd birthday of the Archbishop which also featured the commissioning of a new primary school built by the Archbishop at Onitsha Custodial Center of Nigeria Correctional Services.
The governor, represented by Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh described education as key to societal emancipation from underdevelopment.
He said by citing the school at the center, the Archbishop demonstrated that educational development of the inmates remained the critical point of his episcopacy.
“By building the school at the center, the Archbishop has demonstrated that educational development of the inmates remains the critical point of his episcopacy,” he added.
The governor called on well meaning individuals of the State to emulate the cleric by supporting programs of the State geared towards the educational development of the citizenry.
