Chairman, Anambra Patriots for Soludo (APS), Chief Damian Enekwechi has added another feather to his crown after being named Grand Patron of Youths in
Ngodo Nise in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra state.

The Chibuike Age Grade installed the APS boss as their Grand Patron with the responsibility of leading and advising the group.

Speaking during the installation ceremony, leader of the group, Chukwukaeme Okonkwo recalled that many names emerged in their search for a Grand Patron before it eventually fell on Enekwechi.

He said, “When the search for our Grand Patron started, so many persons whose names are making waves here in our village, our community, and beyond, came to our minds, and got listed.

‘After listing the nominated personalities, the screening process began, with particular emphasis on their lifestyles, family lives, contributions to the society and a person with proven integrity.

‘”At the end, the lot fell on High Chief Damian Enekwechi, Ejiamatu Nise, the big masquerade of our village and Nise community, ji eje mba.”

According to Okonkwo, nothing negative has ever been heard about the new Grand Patron, neither has he been involved in any shady business unlike certain known persons in the community.

“This informed our decision to choose him to be our Grand Patron and role model who would be advising us, guiding us, and protecting us as a father.

“Good enough, when we approached him about our intention of making him our Grand Patron, he accepted with his characteristic humility,” he revealed.

Responding, Enekwechi thanked the youths for considering him for the lofty position.

He assured them that he would always be available to support the age grade, protect their interest within and outside Nise, and help individual members to become better persons in life.

“If someone intends to make trouble with you and he remembers that I’m behind you, he will have a rethink. But if he decides to do push me, I push you, I will support you to push the fellow down.

“I am not asking you to go out and begin to cause trouble because I am your Grand Patron, no. If you do that, I will not support you.

“But what I’m sure of, is that nobody will persecute you. In me, you have a father. I will bring you up to be bigger boys in all ramifications,’ he assured.

Some of youths who spoke with newsmen expressed joy over the development, describing the emergence of the APS strongman as their Grand Patron as turning point in their lives.
