Residents of Nise and Mbaukwu communities in Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State, have declared their support for the re-election of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The endorsement was made during the APGA ward tour held at Nise Civic Center and Agumgbala Field, Mbaukwu respectively which recorded a massive turnout of party faithful, community leaders, women and youths.

Addressing Nise wards one and two, The Deputy Governor of the State Dr. Onyeka Ibezim said Governor Soludo had recorded significant achievements in education, road construction, and electrification projects. He reminded the people that Nise had always been a stronghold of APGA and urged them to consolidate the support by mobilizing voters at the polling unit level.

“Other past governors of Anambra served two terms; Soludo should also complete his eight years,” Ibezim said, stressing that APGA was more than a political party but a movement in Igbo land.

At his hometown Mbaukwu, the deputy governor listed some of the projects executed in the community, including street lights and road networks and assured that the strategic Mbaukwu–Amawbia–Nibo road would soon be rehabilitated.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman Awka South Campaign Council and Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Dr. Ossy Onuko, commended the turnout of supporters saying the campaign at polling unit level was key to delivering overwhelming victory for Soludo.

He explained that Nise has 22 polling units and Mbaukwu 21, urging supporters to take the mobilization seriously. According to him, Soludo has given free education, which he described as the only way a child of a poor man can rise in society, adding that the both communities were APGA land and with their support, the governor would secure the highest votes in the November election.

Community leaders and stakeholders equally echoed their support as Chairman of Nise Ward One Campaign Council Chief Emeka Aghasili (Onwa Nise) said Soludo had no contender in the community, which had always voted APGA

While Nise Community Woman Leader Lady Ngozi Okoye urged women to vote massively while shunning vote buying.
Chinaza Okoye Nise Youth Leader, highlighted youth empowerment programmes, including skills acquisition and job opportunities provided by Gov. Soludo’s administration. Caretaker Chairman of New Tyre Market Dealers Association, Nkpor Chief Eric Ibezim, praised Soludo’s infrastructural strides, particularly in road construction, dismissing opposition parties as weak in Anambra.

Other dignitaries at the rally included the Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Okoye; MD of ASWAMA, Engr. Mike Ozoemena; Awka South Mayor, Prince Chinedu Okafor; Nze Chukwuemeka Agbata; Chief Damian Enekwechi; PG of Nise, Chief Tony Nwabuona; and former Transition Committee Chairman, Hon.
