Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has assured National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of the ministry’s support in fighting drug abuse among school children.
Chuma-Udeh who gave the assurance when the new NDLEA State Commander, CN Onubuogu Charles visited her office, said sensitizing pupils on dangers of narcotics was vital to securing their future.
She described NDLEA’s efforts as heart-warming, pledging partnership to protect children from the scourge of drugs and safeguard the state’s future.
Earlier, Orakwue sought the ministry’s collaboration to “catch them young,” regretting that drug abuse among children was rising at an alarming rate with overstretched rehabilitation centers.
