Hon. Mrs Mimi Ifeoma Azikiwe was sworn-in as a member representing Onitsha North Constituency 1 at the Anambra State House of Assembly on Thursday.
Azikiwe, Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA won the recently concluded by- election for Onitsha North Constituency 1.
She was sworn in by the Speaker of the House, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze who presided over plenary at the legislative chambers.
By her feat, she becomes the second female lawmaker in the 8th Assembly, takes over the seat formerly occupied by late Honourable Justice Azuka who was kidnapped and murdered in 2024.
The Speaker while administering the Oath of Office and Allegiance on the law maker, congratulated her for the victory at the polls and urged her to bring wealth of knowledge and experience to bear in the discharge of her legislative duties.
Mr Udeze encouraged the new law maker to work harmoniously with her colleagues for the overall progress of constituency and the state, assuring of the Assembly’s support in carrying out hernnnnnñ responsibilities.
Hon. Azikiwe in her speech while honoring the memory of her late predecessor pledged to carryout her legislative mandate with courage, dedication and unwavering voice of the people.
