Anambra Guber: Group Inaugurates Ward Excos, Pledges 1 Million Votes for Soludo

Anambra Patriots for Soludo, a political support group has inaugurated the Ward Executives in nine wards in Awka South 1 constituency with a strong declaration to rally grassroots support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo second-term bid.

The event brought together technocrats, professionals, business owners and artisans united under the APS structure, to drive door-door grassroots’ level political mobilization in support of Gov. Soludo’s re-election. According to the group, the inauguration marks a major milestone for Awka South and underscores the growing popularity of the Governor given his developmental strides across the State.

In his remarks, the Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor, urged Ndi Awka to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise rolled out by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the build-up to the November 8, 2025 Guber Polls in the State to elect the next occupant of the Anambra Light House Awka.

He encouraged Ndi Aanmbra who have turned 18 years to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in order to vote for Gov Soludo and thereby guarantee the continuation of good governance.

“The sterling performance of Gov Soludo in office so far is sufficiently compelling for any discerning mind to align with his re-election bid irrespective of differing political leanings’’. We must all work together to deliver him for a second term.

He also lamented the inadequate number of INEC CVR machines which he said has slowed the process of the CVR ahead of the deadline but promised that advocacy is ongoing to secure the extension of the duration of the CRV and the addition of more resources for an effective exercise.

On his part, the Chairman of Anambra Patriots for Soludo, Chief Damian Enekwechi, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to delivering historic voter turn-out in all the 21 LGAs and 326 wards across the State. “Our jurisdiction is our wards’’. Our assignment is to work and deliver Soludo in all our respective wards,” he said.

The new APS Awka South LGA Ward Executives were formally inaugurated as they took oaths of office and thereafter pledged to work towards Gov Soludo’s second term re-election.

In his remarks, the General Secretary of APS and the leader of APS in Awka South 1 Dr. Tony Okoye, described the initiative as a strategic grassroots mobilization tool.

He praised Governor Soludo for restoring political peace and stability in the State. He further acknowledged Mr. Governor’s sterling performance in the areas of infrastructural and human capital developments.

“You cannot guarantee development without peace and stability and Governor Soludo has provided all”; he said. He warned against political distractions and urged members to reject inducements, promising that APS would deliver one million votes to the governor come Nov 8 2025.

He emphasized the need for unity and commitment amongst members of the foremost grassroots’ mobilization machinery that APS represents. He clarified that the gathering was not about politics, but about protecting and consolidating the scalable stability and growth that Anambra has enjoyed under Gov. Soludo.

Admonishing the newly inaugurated Ward Executives, the Coordinator of APS in Awka South LGA, Mr. Charles Nweke described the group as an organic political structure.

He reiterated their support for Governor Soludo second term bid and confirmed that the group has sponsored billboards and other awareness campaigns to promote the governor’s achievements and is determined to take the message to every household.

“We have vowed to continue door-to-door campaign, assuring overwhelming support across sectors and communities. The second term of Governor Soludo is not just a possibility but a mission for us”. “We have met severally and our resolve is strong. We believe in Soludo’s leadership. He has done well and we are taking the message to every household,”
