NYSC SAED Chief charges Anambra Corps members to embrace financial literacy

Corps members in Anambra state have been urged to aggressively pursue financial literacy to achieve independence.

Director, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) at NYSC Headquarters Mr. Aremu Kehinde stated this while unveiling a nationwide plan to empower 400,000 youths with money management skills and interest-free startup loans.

“Understanding how money works is non-negotiable for achieving true financial freedom.

“This initiative is your toolkit to build that future. Maximise every programme offered – especially financial literacy and entrepreneurship – to take charge of your destiny.”

The sweeping SAED initiative, according to the Director includes Mandatory Financial Literacy Training: Covering essential budgeting, saving, and investing skills; 0% Interest Startup Loans and Eliminating capital barriers for young entrepreneurs.

“Others are Business Development Support: Practical training in business planning and cash flow analysis and Global Outsourcing Pathways: NYSC-facilitated remote work opportunities with international clients.

Aremu revealed that 531 Corps members have already launched successful businesses through pilot phases, proving the model’s viability.

He stressed the program combats financial stress while building long-term security and self-sufficiency.

Earlier, State Coordinator Mr. Pauline Ojisua noted SAED’s critical role in transitioning youth “from service to self-sufficiency.”

Director Aremu was received with Quarter Guard honours before his speech after the event was concluded with cultural performances by the NYSC Anambra Dance Troupe.
