The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has encouraged its members to vie for elective political positions in the country.

The body argued that shying away from politics would only worsen the situation of corruption prevalent among most politicians at the corridors of power.

PFN Chairman in Idemili North Local Government Area, Rev. Emeka Elukposi made the call at the inauguration service of the newly elected Eziowelle Ward Men and Women PFN Executives at Freedom Praise Family Worship International Center, Eziowelle.

“You cannot keep saying that politics is a dirty game but if you need help you go to the so-called politicians to request for one assistance or the other. And you are at their mercy to respond to you or govern you anyway they want.

“Politics is everywhere and even in families. Participate in politics and amend the bad governance where necessary. Join politics and mend it.

“Don’t stay by the side and condemn politics as dirty but if the dirty politicians offer your children scholarship you accept it,” he said.

Elukposi also encouraged every Pentecostal church to register with the PFN body which is the mother of Pentecostal churches, describing PFN as a ladder to success and reliable ally in times of challenges.

Inaugurating the PFN Eziowelle Men and Women Executives, Elukposi flanked by his wife/INLGA PFN Women Coordinator, Rev. Mrs Chinyere Elukposi and INLGA PFN Secretary, Rev Dr. Mathew Ugbo said serving in PFN amount to serving the entire body of Christ.

“As you serve PFN in obedience, God will bless your bread and water. You must obey authorities, correct with love and in unity embrace the vision of the Chapter Chairman and your superiors,” said Elukposi.

Earlier, new PFN Eziowelle Ward Chairman, Pastor Obinna Oguaju who was reelected for a second term solicited for fund needed to purchase an 18 seater bus which would be of help in the area of transportation to meetings.

“Politics is all about leading people and improving lives. We are hoping to see more believers in politics because we are the people that can change things for the better in righteousness,” said Pastor Oguaju.

Moreover, Archbishop Nzekwesi of Pineleaf Estate & Homes Ltd advised the newly Inaugurated Eziowelle PFN Exco to discharge their duties diligently knowing that they are working for God and not man. “They should not seek reward from any man but should look unto God”.

“Concerning politics, children of God should be the ones in political offices for the right thing to be done. When the righteous is on the throne the people rejoice. I actively participate in politics. Infact, I am one of the leaders of a group Supporting to ensure Soludo continues as Governor.

“In the bible days, Saul was still on the throne when God told Samuel to go and anoint David to be king over Israel instructing him to claim that he was going to offer a sacrifice should King Saul ask him, that is politics,” said Nzekwesi.

According to Apostle Dr. Kosy Asikwo, the Prophetic Singer and Senior Pastor, Freedom Praise Family Worship International Center Eziowelle who hosted the inauguration service, politics is of God.

“Daniel operated as a politician. David, Joseph ruled in their days and their tenure of leadership were exceptional because they had the fear of God.

“One of the best things that has happened to us is having PFN from national down to the grassroots/wards. I am privileged to host this gathering, feeding kingdom minded people is an honor to me, to God be the glory”, said Apostle Asikwo.

The President General Eziowelle, Dr Julian Obiora thanked PFN for their good works, counseling, and prayers saying that the town union will continue to collaborate with PFN.

“Leadership is all about service to God and Humanity and politics is not dirty but how you play politics will make it dirty or not dirty,” he argued.

Highlight of the Inauguration service include appreciation cum honouring of immediate past Vice Chairman PFN Eziowelle Ward, Pastor Onwe Chukwuemeka Delight who was recently transferred by his denomination to Awada Obosi.
